Chairmaking exhibit

Of the Best Materials and Good Workmanship: 19th Century New Jersey Chairmaking

Monmouth County Historical Association Museum, Freehold, NJ

"Of the Best Materials and Good Workmanship: 19th Century New Jersey Chairmaking" is a survey exhibition of chairmaking tools and stencils, common chairs, factory made and windsor chairs. Photographs, engravings and advertisements take a closer look at the chairmakers themselves.

As the exhibit designer I worked closely with curator Joseph W. Hammond. We set the entire project. In addition to the planning documents, floorplans and elevations, I produced a 14'x20' exterior banner, a 6x9 announcement postcard, an 8 page bibliography and composed display ads for two industry publications.
